- Ratings of 10 and 20 percent carry no dependent add-on.
- The base columns include one child. Each further child adds the under-18 or schoolchild amount from the add-on table, depending on age and school status.
- Compensation is tax-free federally and in every state.
- With 20 or more years of service and a rating of 50 percent or higher, VA compensation is paid on top of retired pay (CRDP). Below either threshold the retired pay is offset unless CRSC applies.
